Lake Conway Sandbar
Although it's well-known to Conway residents, this weekly lake party is somewhat of a secret to the rest of Central Florida. Each weekend hundreds of boats gather on the sandbar to eat, drink and "waste" the day away basking in the Florida sun. Someone always supplies the music and there's no shortage of good times. Get away from the crowd for a bit and wake board, wake skate or tube on the Conway Chain. Don't have a boat to get there? Paddle board, canoe, float or even swim out!
Check out the sandbar on Lake Conway every weekend.
Orlando Watersports Complex
This one's for the thrill-seekers. Catch a wave behind a brand new Nautique boat and earn your wakeboarding skills or fine tune your water skiing technique. The complex offer classes from beginner to advanced with a staff full of experienced pros. Not quite ready for the extreme water sports? Take a paddleboarding class or chill out on their deck space or beach area. Browse their pro shop and test out a board set up before you buy. They even offer a summer camp for kids ages 7-15 from June 5 - August 11.
Summer Hours (March- October)
Cable: 10 AM - Dusk
Boat: 9 AM - Dusk
Paddleboarding Classes: Weekdays 6 PM - Dusk

Something's Brewing in Central Florida
This ones not for you, wine snobs. Check out a few of the coolest places around town to grab a "cold one."
Ocean Sun Brewery
There are quite a few details about this brewery that make it unique. For instance, it's BYOF (bring your own food) option or welcoming man's best (furry) friend to pull up a chair at their inside tables. This place proves to be rather hospitable when it comes to making you feel comfortable. Ocean Sun produces traditional ales and lagers, but sometimes they'll serve up a twist like their Big Buchi - a stout that's deep, rich and chocolately, topped with espresso. If you're not a frequent beer guzzler, not to worry. The spot arms you with a beer guide for pairing suggestions to satisfy your thirsty palate. If all this drinking makes you hungry and you forgot to BYOF you can choose from their menu of fresh local food while you enjoy their live entertainment. Have brewing skills of your own? While you're there inquire about becoming a guest brewer!
Ocean Sun Brewing is located at 3030 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32806
Mon-Tues: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Wed-Thurs: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Fri-Sat: 12:00 PM - Midnight
Sun: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Orlando Brewing Company
This Orlando hangout has been around for a while, but there are probably some things you didn't know - like how they are the only U.S.D.A. certified organic brewery south of Vermont and east of Colorado, or that their home brews can be found in over 500 locations across the state of Florida. They also follow what is called "the Reinheitsgebot," the German Purity Law of 1516 which decreed that beers should only be brewed with four ingredients: water, hops, yeast and malted barely with no adjuncts or additives - in other words organic. Graeme Lay is their Brewmaster and while he is very strict on following the Reinheitsgebot, 4 times a year he releases a beer that violates the law which they have appropriately dubbed "The Violator Series." Having a party? Pick up a 6-pack or even a keg of their in-house brews!
Orlando Brewing is located at 1301 Atlanta Ave, Orlando, FL 32806
Mon-Thurs: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Fri-Sat: 1:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Sun: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Sea Dog Brewing
Not only does this place have great beer, but they have great food, too. Choose from their beer-infused "creative pub fare with a flair" menu including things like "Cheesesteak "wit" Beer Wiz" (beer wiz: beer and cheese sauce, apparently) or their "Export Beer Braised Chicken Quesadilla." Originating in Maine, Sea Dog also offers a wide variety of delicious seafood options. Pair your pick with a handcrafted ale and dig in!
Sea Dog Brewing is located at 8496 Palm Parkway, Orlando, FL 32836
Mon-Thurs: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Sat-Sun: 11:30 AM - 12:00 AM
Bottomless Brunches = Bottomless Fun
How does Orlando celebrate our two-day, weekly vacation? We brunch, of course! And the only way to do brunch? Bottomless(ly). Here are a few of our go-to's.
This downtown hotspot is casual yet refined, with a modern feel and an innovative menu. Their brunch selection can appease even the pickiest eater, with traditional favorites like Chicken & Waffles to quirky dishes like Green Eggs & Ham. Pair your meal with $12.95 bottomless mimosas, OR the best part of all - breakfast cereal shots! That's right, childhood memories in a shot glass like Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, Honey-nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and three more original Avenue Gastrobar flavors.
Brunch (and cereal shots) served Saturday and Sunday until 3 PM.
This dishy little spot has much to offer when it comes to brunch. But, they'll do you one better- Jazz Brunch. Contemporary jazz emanates from the Imperial Grand Bösendorfer Piano throughout the art-adorned interior. Pair that ambiance with bottomless mimosas and a superb culinary experience and you'll understand why it's award-winning.
Brunch is served on Sunday mornings from 10 AM until 2 PM
Santiago's Bodega Orlando
This colorful tapas-style restaurant offers all-you-can-eat and drink weekend brunch that includes not only mimosas, but an added bonus, sangria. As for the spread, prepare to dine royally on prime rib, crab legs, roast chicken, leg of lamb, sliced cheeses, cured meats, chorizo paella and more. Pro-tip: Santiago's regular lunch menu is also available during brunch.
Wine and dine every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM until 2:30 PM.
Soco, short for "Southern Contemporary," focuses on Southern Hospitality in the kitchen and in the details. Executive Chef/Partner Greg Richie says "At Soco, we believe in the wholesomeness of food and the integrity of it's preparation." To them, Southern Contemporary means mixing the classics with some not-so-average ingredients. For example, their Crispy Duck Confit Potato Cakes or their Soco-Style "Chicken and Dumplings" infused with lobster, edamame and local mushrooms. Combine your mod meal with bottomless mimosas for a Soco-mpletely amazing brunch.
Enjoy every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.

Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge
You might remember this one from our Fusilier Favorites: Farmer's Market post, but this animal refuge was started for much more than hosting a weekly community market. Back to Nature is a non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and fosters orphaned or injured wildlife until they are healthy enough to be returned to their natural habitat. Some animals become permanent residents and are taken care of by the dedicated staff who do for the animals what they may never be able to do for themselves. The animals get plenty of visitors with all of the activities and events the refuge offers to guests. Book a guided tour and stroll down the Wildlife Walk stopping at each enclosure to hear facts and stories about some of animals that live on the property. BTN also hosts a variety of themed events that are too cute to miss like their Annual Baby Squirrel Shower or their Animal-versary.
Visit the furry friends Tuesday - Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
