Wekiva Island

Beat the heat this summer in this water-lover's paradise with something for everyone. Adventurers can test their skills by canoeing, kayaking or paddle boarding down the picturesque river. For those who'd like to skip the "work," lounge in a cabana and sip on a craft beer or a glass of wine from their indoor/outdoor bar. After you've finished relaxing, catch a game of beach volleyball, throw a fishing line or take a dip in the perfect 72 degree water. Visit on a "Wekiva Wednesday" and partake in signature events like Wine & Paint, Brew Review, or Wine Down Wednesday.

Summer Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day)

Lake Conway Sandbar

Although it's well-known to Conway residents, this weekly lake party is somewhat of a secret to the rest of Central Florida. Each weekend hundreds of boats gather on the sandbar to eat, drink and "waste" the day away basking in the Florida sun. Someone always supplies the music and there's no shortage of good times. Get away from the crowd for a bit and wake board, wake skate or tube on the Conway Chain. Don't have a boat to get there? Paddle board, canoe, float or even swim out!

Check out the sandbar on Lake Conway every weekend.

The complex offer classes from beginner to advanced with a staff full of experienced pros. Not quite ready for the extreme water sports? Take a paddleboarding class or chill out on their deck space or beach area. Browse their pro shop and test out a board set up before you buy. They even offer a summer camp for kids ages 7-15 from June 5 - August 11.

Summer Hours (March- October)

Cable: 10 AM - Dusk

There's More to Orlando than Theme Parks.

Orlando is known as the tourist capital of the world, so it's no surprise that Disney and Universal are probably what come to mind when you think of the "City Beautiful." But what about all of us locals who need another outlet to escape the daily hustle and bustle? The answer: Wine Bars. Great for a date or a night on the town with friends, "wine downs" are the perfect wind down.

Here are some of our favorites.

The Wine Room

Located in Winter Park, The Wine Room offers over 100 different wines, and therefore reasons, for you to pay them a visit. Swipe your wine card for a sip or a glass and taste your way through the space. Check out some of their selection here -  Menu!

Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant

The Illinois-based chain is definitely not your typical restaurant. The hot-spot serves up house-labeled wine, gives you access to an all-inclusive wine club and organizes Southern California wine trips hosted by Cooper's Hawk founder, Tim McEnery. Each Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant location also features a Napa-Style tasting room and gift store to give guests an authentic experience. Take a look at their extensive list here - Menu!

Vines Grille & Wine Bar

The Restaurant Row favorite pairs sophistication with a good time for a winning combination. The upscale atmosphere is offset by the upbeat live music to create a welcoming feel. Their considerably large wine list includes over 650 selections from small boutiques to top producers from around the world. Their wine collection is ever-changing so they don't list their full menu online but you can find out more about what they stock here -  Wine List!

Carmel Kitchen and Wine Bar

Another chain that's anything but ordinary. You can "orchestrate" your experience right from your table using their MenuPad technology by customizing and pacing your meal from start to finish. The MenuPad also provides detailed menu descriptions along with their suggested wine pairing. See their full wine list here - Menu!

Eola Wine Company

With two prime locations, one Downtown and one in Winter Park, you have double the chances to enjoy this chill spot. The inviting space offers light fare and wine varieties by the glass, flight or bottle. See their menu here - Menu!
